How Gen Z Became Rightwing

Anthony Auspice

Anthony Auspice is a writer on Substack specializing in cultural commentary on the young generations.

Generation Z (those born from about 1995 to 2012) has witnessed in their lifetimes a historical political revolution. This revolution is likely to determine the uncertain future of humanity. There is a growing sense that there is a battle coming for Western civilization, and that it will be winner-takes-all.

On one side, we have a cabal of billionaires, leftists, and globalists, all of whom are working hard to destroy the West and the genetic homogeneity of whites. Their goal is to inject multiculturalism so that society can become a big bowl of heterogeneous mix that can easily be ruled over by a select class of elite technocrats, and they plan to use AI to rule from the top-down so that the managerial revolution can be complete.

On the other side, we have far-right Gen Z men who are doing as much as they can to reclaim the testosterone that society stole. Somehow, they have resisted — or overcome — the liberal programming that saturates every medium. They have nothing to lose, they’re very angry, and they’re ready to fight for their culture and country.

The average liberal normies are starting to ask themselves what on earth is happening. Many young men are calling for women’s voting rights to be stripped, or for an end to all immigration along with denaturalization. Even fascism is making a comeback. What is going on?

Some will try to write this off as the collective sexual frustration of “incels” manifesting through politics. These are merely radicalized losers, they say, who are obsessed with victimhood. How ironic.

This is why liberal young men are becoming — and will continue to become — not merely conservatives, libertarians, classical liberals, or constitutionalists, but truly right-wing.

The liberal programming is so entrenched in Western civilization that there are not (and perhaps never have been) genuinely competing viewpoints in the West. Modern conservatism and liberalism are the same exact ideology, it’s just that liberals don’t bother to “drive the speed limit,” while conservatives do. Modern conservative views are more liberal than many 1990s Democrats — conservatives largely support gay marriage, even though it would contradict their supposedly right-wing principles. There is a difference in degree, but not in kind. American conservatism is not a right-wing ideology; it has been captured by liberalism, and it cannot escape.

Until very recently, the West has not been capable of rejecting liberal foundational assumptions. This is due largely to a public education system which taught, among other things, that we had reached the “end of history.” This term, coined by Francis Fukuyama refers to the theory that the world has solved the question of government once and for all: Western democracy is inevitable, and it would eventually spread to all. No more kings or gods; Democracy is the rightful ruler of man. We were now civilized. We enact our own change, and we govern ourselves because we are our own gods.

This arrival at the perfected viewpoints, of course, did not liberate us from the mistakes of the past. How could anyone be considered “better”? Imagine putting someone in chains just because of their skin color! The sins of our ancestors were never to be forgotten or diminished.

Whites wanted to make it right. We were genuinely upset to see that others were being treated poorly. For years we were taught that our ancestors would hang any black man they saw, and we were disgusted by this. So, we read the novels about how awful the pre-emancipation South was, and every February we learned about the bravery of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. Clearly, we whites were an awful group of people — evil, even — and something had to be done to make it right.

So, whites enthusiastically embraced the idea of a system based on merit. Restitution, however, would not be so easy. So deeply entrenched were these prejudices, we were told, that no non-white could ever compete in a system set up by whites. So, as penance for our blood, we had to willingly step aside. Now, everyone else would have a right to power and status in our civilization. This right was independent of merit or even their character. It was, quite simply, their turn now.

Surely, now that we erased the barriers to fairness, the rampant inequality we saw would vanish, right? It obviously did not. The most tragic part is that nearly all American whites wanted this to work. We thought this color-blind world was possible. It was the end of history — everything should be working out now.

As Affirmative Action became Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, whites sat by proudly as others were given opportunities instead of us. Whites voted for Barack Obama, and many were moved to literal tears when he took office. It was done! We succeeded.

Then came the vitriolic hatred of whites. It was obvious to all that it was no longer about equality, it was about vengeance. The repayment for our purposeful concession of power was subjugation and oppression. We had no choice but to accept this. Black Lives Matter showed this antiwhite hate clearly. With the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, the rage against whites reached a fever pitch, and it only got worse.

Reparations became a mainstream talking point. Clubs and groups formed that openly excluded whites. Opinions were mocked and disregarded if the speaker was white. Everything was racism. Nothing could be viewed outside this lens. As qualified whites were denied jobs and college admissions, we realized that we were officially second-class citizens. All the while, whites were noticing that the inequality remained.

When whites stepped graciously aside and allowed others to run our societies, we only got even more racial hate and vitriol against us. Our culture was desecrated. Unqualified people made our once proud institutions into pathetic jokes while we were prevented from participating.

Interestingly, while whites were universally slandered in the mainstream, white women enjoyed a position of great privilege granted to them by the total cultural hegemony of post-sexual-revolution feminism. In the same way BLM embodied an ethos of racial retribution, mainstream feminism was a gender retribution against white men.

It started just like the race discussion: “We just want a fair shot. Why are there so many male CEOs?” Once again, our good will was preyed upon by the vultures. We wanted women to have good lives. Maybe they had a point! Then, the same exact pattern emerged. Women don’t want equality, it turns out, they just have a vitriolic hatred for men. They want revenge for the ills of what they imagine the past to have been like.

It was in the midst of this that white men started to realize something important. We started to realize that we have no obligation to the people who hate us.

That’s when Donald Trump emerged. He clarified that it’s actually okay to be American. He reminded us that America was our nation and that we can return it to greatness. He said we didn’t have to put up with being treated like garbage just because the managerial class says that it’s the way things are going to be forever now. Somehow, none of us had ever been told this before. It was an immense cultural and ideological relief for many men.

Trump’s message was true. We knew this inherently, and there was no denying it. So why was he being called the evilest man ever to have lived? Even The New York Times called him Hitler. The media, we were taught, was the purveyor of objective truth. Many had just accepted what they said outright — it’s what our schools taught us to do. Believing mainstream news was just called “staying informed.”

But the lies were now too blatant to ignore. The “Fine People” hoax was a particularly flagrant lie. Many politically neutral people realized that the media was outright lying about Donald Trump. Nobody was being rounded up. Blacks were not being chained. Immigrants weren’t being killed. Reality did not match the narrative.

A majority could not break the media conditioning, but some of us did. For us, it was obvious that the first Trump campaign had planted an idea, and that idea would grow. It was the idea that, perhaps, it was okay to exist as a white American man. Maybe white men did some acceptable things sometimes, even positive things.

This thought was incredibly uncomfortable, given the media environment. But because that propaganda was so blatant and extreme, we finally saw beyond a shadow of a doubt that the media had an agenda. They were no longer informing or seeking the truth but propagandizing. Then came the venture into the unknown.

Trump was elected in 2016, and everything got turned way, way up. The establishment deployed counter-revolutionary memes to stifle the awakening. Schooling convinced whites that they were hated. It showed an active, universal disdain for whites and men by all of our culture’s most powerful institutions. It was no longer just theory.

Colored students started segregating themselves on purpose. The deluge came: Micro-aggressions, safe spaces, land acknowledgements, and gender-neutral bathrooms swept through to destroy every single cultural truth that existed before. The old world, the promised world of equality and individual human rights, was gone. Had it ever really existed?

The Left now saw it as their moral obligation to frighten us into submission. Antifa was organized and deployed at any and all conservative events. Physical conflict would land right-wing participants in jail while left-wing agitators escaped all consequences. It was now an intentionally, blatantly two-tiered society, and whites were told they must willingly accept their own subjugation, or else their lives would be destroyed, and they would be shut out of participation in civilization.

This rejection had a paradoxical effect. A coalition of young white males began to form. They sat and watched themselves being denied, mocked, ridiculed, insulted, abused, and hated. They were promised a society that fairly judged based on merit. They promised to do the same in return. Yet, the opposite was being inflicted on them. They were judged exclusively by their race, and they were denied things they had earned because of things they had no control over.

At this point, these boys would still insist that they would never judge anyone based on their race. They might make a gay joke or two, but they’d still say, “love is love.” Why hold back two people who wanted to get married, they wondered. As a result, many of these young men thought they must be libertarian. They grew up in a society that believed that everyone was a blank slate, so they thought everyone should get a fair shot, regardless of differences. These young men would affirm their commitment to the vision of the Founding Fathers, and they’d say that individuals should be judged individually. Some even thought that vices like illegal drugs should all be legalized.

After young men gave this inch, society took a mile. It became obvious, even for the most casual observer, that we had been thoroughly deceived. Instead of gay rights, we saw open and public celebrations of the vilest forms of degeneracy imaginable. The trans epidemic clued us in: This wasn’t just the liberation of that which had been stifled, this was a total inversion of that which was natural. The fascination that the trans had with children, and their predatory insistence on unfettered access to women’s spaces, made this realization sink in.

It was clear that they weren’t born this way. At its root, this was deviancy, mindless indulgence, and the celebration of destructive vice. The image of “just let them do it in the privacy of their own homes” evaporated. It had obviously been a lie. Whispers began, but the tide didn’t turn. Even children were being exposed to this. We knew it wasn’t okay, but it snuck up on us. Suddenly, every movie, show, and star were androgynous or gay.

Straight white men were now entirely isolated. Nothing on any screen showed white men being anything but pathetic wimpy losers. Anything that even approximated masculinity was slandered and branded “toxic.” Minding your own business was no longer enough to avoid being abused.

Straight white men were forced to fund and participate in their own subjugation.

Then suddenly, Jordan Peterson appeared. He treated us like we were men, not broken girls. He told us of strength and order. He told us to stop wallowing and deferring to the inverted world around us, and to do something instead.

Jordan Peterson’s early message was revolutionary, like Trump’s, because it had been placed in stark relief against a world that trafficked in lies and deception. Without the Great Inversion, this message would have been too basic to even be mentioned; it was instinctual. This pointed to the fact that, whether or not we realize it, society desperately needs men and masculinity in order to function.

With the small spark lit by Peterson’s early work, a fire was lit. Joe Rogan’s podcast exploded into the mainstream. He wasn’t far-right or extreme, he was just something other than automatically beholden to gays, women, and the far-left narrative that ruled our civilization. He had conversations that, at the time, were forbidden because they didn’t pay lip service to the lies. Somehow, this milquetoast, basic, ordinary masculinity was rare enough to be culturally revolutionary for many young men. We realized we didn’t have to obey people who hated us.

This was exciting to us. These, we thought, are the great men of our age. They are intelligent and brave, and they don’t instantly bow to the leftist cultural hegemony. This was the rise of the Intellectual Dark Web. Masculinity suddenly returned to culture. Weightlifting and UFC got big. Rejecting wokeness was almost respectable in some circles. The archetype of our culture’s masculine man was now that of a rogue who did his own thing and didn’t bow to the mob: The “Sigma male.”

Then, COVID-19 hit. The extent of overreach this caused is difficult to adequately express in hindsight. It was in this that we saw every remaining institution lose its final shreds of credibility. Six-foot social distancing was invented out of nowhere. The origin of the virus was lied about. Masks didn’t work. The vaccines weren’t vaccines, they were gene therapy shots, and they might be poison. We realized that the medical industry was, at best, psychopathically money-hungry, and at worst, a tool to manufacture government power without consent.

The censorship to enforce these baseless mandates opened most people’s eyes to the very real political moves being made by tech and media companies. These entities, it turned out, were simply extraconstitutional arms of the state. Rogan’s face was color-altered to make him look sicklier, and he was nearly de-platformed for benign comments. Anyone who took a real stand was nuked from orbit.

Soon after lockdowns, we saw the sacrifice, death, and resurrection of the new messiah of the leftist hegemony: Our Lord, George Floyd. Leftists blatantly ignored the active lockdown measures they themselves advocated for, and they took to the streets to destroy the United States. They did this with complete immunity from consequences.

Seattle city blocks were taken over by mobs and declared “Autonomous Zones.” City council members led riots. The “Summer of Love” 2020 commenced, and the National Institutes of Health announced, to justify the violence and destruction during lockdowns, that racism was a public health crisis. Never mind the “deadly pandemic,” leftists had special rights.

Canadians who protested vaccine mandates were de-banked and jailed. It was called racist to demand that immigrants show IDs to vote, but you now required a vaccine card to go to the gym. The double standards were blatant and obvious. It was clear that COVID was political and may always have been.

It was no longer enough to call for neutrality in our institutions. We were now required to obtain power and hold positions of authority if we were to survive. Being “left alone” was not an option, we now realized. These people wanted to control us no matter how involved we were, or whether we wanted to be left alone.

Through the cultural torture that Gen Z men endured, they became immune to the propaganda that previous generations absorbed which made them allergic to power. The propaganda saying that history proved white men were incapable of holding power no longer worked. COVID measures made it clear that we had to fight fire with fire.

The world is not full of people who just want to coexist and get along. Gen Z men understand that their positions must be revised. Everything, down to the last issue, must be re-thought from square one.

As if COVID overreach wasn’t enough, then came the stolen 2020 election. There was a stunning lack of shame as the Left overtly grabbed power. This was the final death of the idea that there are any unspoken rules that both sides abide by. The leftist hegemony propped up a corpse as candidate, engaged in clear and obvious vote fraud, and “won” an election in a way that made no sense to anyone paying attention.

The climax of this was when the sitting President of the United States was banned from social media, the square of public discussion. The riots on January 6 that led to this ban resulted in grandmothers being thrown in federal prison and political prisoners having their constitutional rights stripped. This was less than six months after the United States burned over the overdose of a black criminal in police custody.

The Biden presidency kicked the Gen Z death of liberalism into high gear. Mayorkas opening the border saw hordes of fighting-age third-world men storming Eagle Pass, TX. The low estimate is that 10 million people entered. It is likely much higher. There was no attempt at an argument or justification. It was simply time to destroy us, and we were to stay silent.

Any comment that this would change demographics was downright heresy. We listened while the regime shouted about how awful whites were, but online we saw video after video of non-whites and illegals beating whites to a bloody pulp, robbing them, invading their homes, playing “the knockout game,” and much more. There was backlash, but only online, and that meant that complainers could simply get banned. Terms of Service weren’t real anymore — they could ban whoever they wanted at any time, often at the direct request of U.S. intelligence agencies. Dissenters could be, and were, targeted for destruction and removal from the discussion. A free speech alternative to Twitter, Parler, was removed from the app store as soon as it launched.

In 2022, the regime tried to create a disinformation governance board — a Ministry of Truth — to try and control the spread of dissent online. Elon Musk, the political moderate, was suddenly red-pilled. He put up $44 billion and purchased Twitter, a company with huge control of the conversation that was headquartered in the most extremely leftist locale in the country, San Francisco.

The right had broken the boundaries of the leftist hegemonic regime. People suddenly noticed that the men who acted brave weren’t taking any actual stand. They were flirting, carefully, with the line between liberal conformity and ordinary masculinity. They said just enough to avoid any real upset. Watching the capitulation led young men to one conclusion: These people are either uselessly weak, or outright subversive. They continued to call for reason, rationality, and a 1990s climate of emotionless neutrality that would allow everyone to live harmoniously in a consent-based society. Unfortunately, this was not an option. We needed men with real strength to run society with actual values. We needed men of independent strength, not strength defined by the parameters of an enemy trying to destroy us utterly. These false warriors were exposed, and so was the societal vacuum of real power.

Women demanded the freedom to pick the powerful parts of masculinity while preserving the lack of responsibility in chivalry. He had to be 6 feet tall, open doors, and pay for meals, but how dare you ask her to cook or do laundry. Men have all the responsibilities and take all the blame when things go wrong, but women have the authority and reap the benefits when things go right. Men have the burden of everything important, but women have the final say on everything.

And this is where we find ourselves. In a country that has been and is still being pillaged, abused, sold out, and replaced. The very people suffering these transgressions are being blamed for them. Now, the young men of Gen Z who were once equality-loving liberals, who just wanted to play games or hang out with friends, have been forced to respond. They now have an urgent willingness to do whatever it takes to fix this disaster.

Let us not forget how extremely patient younger men have been during this evolution. They let everyone make their own choices and held up their promise not to judge people if their actions weren’t affecting anyone else. Then, they saw the proud chanting at Pride parades: “We’re coming for your children!” We saw drag queens showing porn to kids in school as liberal white women cheered. We watched immigrants and minorities complain about racism in the least racist nation that has ever existed, one that has literally committed suicide just to avoid appearing mean.

We heard them say that these people just deserved a second chance. Then we saw Iryna Zarutska stabbed to death by a criminal who had been let out of prison, just because he wanted to stab a “white girl.”

We heard them complain for years that they’re victims of systemic racism and that they just wanted a fair chance. Then, we saw Karmelo Anthony stab Austin Metcalf for no reason and watched as his family raised half a million dollars in a GoFundMe account littered with antiwhite racial hate comments, and instead of legal bills, they bought a mansion and some Jordans.

We tried to give women a seat at the table, then we watched as Mackenzie Bezos donated billions of her ex-husband’s money to leftist organizations.

We tried to adhere to the “marketplace of ideas,” and we challenged the left to discuss their points with us. We knew that our views were based on fact and could create a better world. We were confident that a discussion could persuade them of the truth and that we’d build a better future together.

Then we saw Charlie Kirk get shot in the neck for that very thing. And, most importantly, we saw them cheer for it.

We’re done. We’re no longer trusting in good faith. No more benefit of the doubt. We will not put ourselves last. We will not allow freaks and failures to make it illegal to be normal so that they can rob and kill whoever they want with impunity. No more social experiments that result in total destruction as both political parties refuse to do anything about it. No more being told that some ideas and words are off limits by people whose ideas and words are impotent.

We are not attached to some procedure, some way of doing things, just because “That’s how it’s always been!” We’re done following your rules that lead to our abuse and destruction. We’re done losing just so that we can say we did so honestly.

We want a society that doesn’t actively try to hurt, exploit, and abuse us. We are willing to discard, dismantle, build, or add anything that will get real results.

When Gen Z rises up and seizes power, it won’t be with trepidation and caution. It won’t be in service of sacred cows. It won’t be timid and quiet. It won’t care what you think of it. It will play, unlike its elders, to win.     *
